Word On Veganuary

Veganuary is an annual campaign that encourages people worldwide to try a vegan lifestyle for the month of January. Founded in 2014 by Jane Land and Matthew Glover in the UK, the initiative aims to inspire people to adopt a plant-based diet for health, environmental, and animal welfare reasons.

Promoting Plant-Based Diets: Veganuary encourages participants to replace animal-based products with plant-based alternatives for 31 days.

The campaign provides resources, meal plans, recipes, and educational materials to make the transition to veganism easier visit  https://veganuary.com to find out more.

Raising Awareness

  • Environmental Impact: Highlighting how reducing meat and dairy consumption can lower greenhouse gas emissions, conserve water, and reduce deforestation.
  • Animal Welfare: Educating people about the ethical concerns surrounding animal farming.
  • Health Benefits: Sharing evidence of how a plant-based diet can improve overall health, lower the risk of certain diseases, and enhance well-being.

Global Engagement

  • While rooted in the UK, Veganuary has expanded internationally, with campaigns running in numerous countries and partnerships with global brands.
  • The initiative collaborates with restaurants, supermarkets, and food producers to promote vegan products and make them more accessible.

Sparking Long-Term Change

While the focus is on trying veganism for one month, Veganuary aims to inspire participants to adopt a vegan lifestyle permanently or at least reduce their reliance on animal products.
